Douglas to miss two months after ankle surgery

Adelaide veteran Richard Douglas will be out of commission for two months following surgery on an ankle injury incurred during the Crows' round one loss to Hawthorn.

The midfielder underwent successful surgery on Wednesday after injuring the syndesmosis in his right ankle towards the end of the game.

He was tripped in a contested situation and rolled his ankle badly, resulting in a high ankle sprain, according to Crows high performance manager Matt Hass.

The news comes as the Crows prepare to take on Sydney on Friday night at the SCG.
