Leicester City players are not angry at Riyad Mahrez, states Foxes midfielder Marc Albrighton
Leicester star man Riyad Mahrez will not face a backlash from his team-mates despite his desires to leave the club along with missing training four times last week, according to fellow midfielder Marc Albrighton.
The Algerian forward missed his side’s 2-1 defeat to Everton on deadline day as he attempted to force a move through to Premier League leaders Manchester City.
He was also absent from Leicester’s 1-1 draw with Swansea City on Saturday and questions remain over whether or not he will return to first team action anytime soon.
However, fellow midfielder Albrighton insists that the players at the club are not angry at Mahrez despite his recent behaviour.

‘We know this from when Claudio [Ranieri] was relieved of his duties last season, stories will get made up,’ Albrighton said. ‘They’re far from the truth and we just have to deal with it.
‘We can’t come out and argue with anyone, we just have to get on with our football and do our job.
‘I’ve seen a few stories saying the players were angry and it’s far from the truth.
‘That’s something that we have to deal with. We know it’s going to happen and we just get on with our job.’

The Foxes currently sit eighth in the Premier League table and despite their recent defeat to Everton, remain on a solid run of form having only lost one game in 2018 so far.
