Joseph Tate is a man with a target on his back and Ross Barton is now planning to work on the inside in order to bring him down in Emmerdale. After Joe was left in a woodland pit by a gun toting Sam Dingle, it was engineered so that Ross would come to the rescue.
As Ross pulled a seething Joe to safety, he encouraged him not to dob Sam in it to the police and they reached an agreement – with Ross agreeing to drive Joe into the village in order for him to confront Debbie so long as the police were kept out of it.
When Joe turned up and launched a blistering attack on Debbie and Cain, Debbie was merely aghast with Ross for helping him out and giving him a life. When Joe left, Ross explained that he stopped Joe from handing Sam to the police while Cain let Debbie, Charity and Chas into the plan – now that Ross has won Joe’s trust, he will fill Graham Foster’s shoes and work at Home Farm.
While Joe will think that he has a new ally, Ross will actually be working against him and finding his weakness in order to finally destroy him. But is Joe really set to fall for this ploy? Will Ross be convincing enough or will Joe be one step ahead?
Whatever happens, things are about to turn even nastier…
