Health kick: Coronation Street's Brooke Vincent has revealed the lengths she is going to in the hope of nabbing the crown, after quitting smoking, ditching McDonald's and hitting the gym ahead of the series launch on Sunday
Brooke's true dedication to winning the show has been revealed shortly before hitting screens – with her various bad habits taking a back seat.
She said: 'I’ve stopped smoking for the show so I’m not out of breath when they are telling me I’m getting scores of nine and ten!
'I’ve come on a journey with my fitness, not really drank, have been eating well, training and it’s been a lifestyle change for me.
'Dedicating this time to myself and to my body, it’s just a mega challenge for myself so I’d like to come away from it with some selfsatisfaction, saying well done and patting myself on the back.'
Winning formula? The 25-year-old actress, who is paired with Matej Silecky, also announced the gruelling schedule she is working to as she revealed she is juggling her Corrie filming schedule with her training for the long-anticipated show
Of a typical weekend for the star, she said: 'I’d get up and I’d have a McDonalds breakfast. Then I’d go and see my nana and my grandad and then I’d get ready, go out with the girls that night.
'Then stay in bed all day Sunday in pyjamas, and eat McDonalds breakfast again. I’m quite normal. I’m excited because a change is as good as a rest, I’ll embrace change.'
With all her changes, the biggest is undoubtedly her tough timings of balancing what is now two jobs – training and filming.
Last week, she told The Sun: 'I’ve been getting up at 5am then doing 6-8am training and then I go to work until 7pm. I’ve done that for about four or five weeks now. It’s hard but you know what I’ve realised, you don’t get any further for moaning.
'You look at Alex Beresford as his job finishes at 7.30/8 in the morning on Good Morning Britain and he’s got the rest of the day to do whatever. But I think I’m more jealous of the time people have on the ice because I am enjoying it.'
