Arsene Wenger responds to Arsenal fans who booed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Arsene Wenger admits he was not surprised by the Arsenal fans who booed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain during the 3-3 draw with Liverpool on Friday evening.
The 24-year-old faced his former club for the first time since joining Jurgen Klopp’s side in a £35 million deal in the summer.
But the England international was given a frosty reception from Arsenal supporters as he replaced Philippe Coutinho with six minutes remaining.
When asked if he was surprised by the reaction to Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wenger said after the match: ‘Surprised? I’m 20 years in England… I’m not surprised.

‘But overall, I don’t think it was too loud.’
Arsenal found themselves two goals behind against Liverpool after Coutinho and Mohamed Salah struck for the visitors.
But Wenger’s men scored three in the space of six minutes to turn the tie back in their favour.
Liverpool, however, managed to rescue a point after Petr Cech failed to keep out Roberto Firmino’s effort.
