Brazilian DJ Alok has confirmed that he is fine after his plane crash landed as it attempted take off.

Taking to Instagram the DJ, real name Alok Achkar Peres Petrillo, told fans we are all fine, I can only thank you, thank God before suggesting that he has been born again on May 20, my second birth.

In a video on Instagram stories he told fans: Everyone, I went to take off here, our plane …

He then trailed off, clearly unable to articulate the tragedy they had been involved with; in a second video a fellow passenger could be heard sobbing.

Nine people were on board including the pilot and co-pilot but it was confirmed that no one was injured.

The plane was a Cessna Aircraft, model 560X, and it was claimed that as the end of the runway approached the plane failed to take off, leading to the craft falling in to the ravine; footage taken by vehicles out on the road showed the plane at a precarious angle although there was no fire.

The Secretariat of Economic Development, Labor and Tourism (Sedettur) reported that the incident during the takeoff of the aircraft took place around 4.30pm local time (7.30pm GMT)

Alok, 26, is one of Brazils most prolific DJs, with more than eight million monthly listeners on Spotify; he is best known for his worldwide hit song Hear Me Now.
