Sky Cinema have got an appropriately spooky selection of movies for October and new releases that will make you happy to curl up out of the cold as autumn well and truly takes hold.

With Halloween at the end of the month, Sky Cinema have horror films to satisfy those looking for a scare but also cater for families with their new releases next month – so its not all nightmare-inducing, watch-from-behind-the-couch stuff.

So whats going to be on the TV for your cosy nights in as the days get darker and colder? Here are the new releases to look forward to on Sky Cinema in October 2019.

Widows – 4th October

Whats better than watching Liam Neeson in an action-packed, tense crime thriller? Watching Oscar-winner Viola Davis star alongside him with Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki and Cynthia Erivo by her side.

Widows, as suggested in the title, follows a group of women whose partners were part of a criminal gang. Once widowed, the women must set out to finish what their partners started, or face the consequences.

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween – 18th October

The second installment of Goosebumps arrived in time for Halloween last year and its coming to Sky Cinema just in time to re-live the scares again on Halloween in 2019.

The film stars Jack Black as the writer of the Goosebumps books and follows a group of teens who accidentally unleash a myriad of monsters from the pages of his stories. As you can imagine, all hell breaks loose.

How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World – 19th October

Everyones favourite family-friendly dragon-taming movie franchise returns with its third installment on Sky Cinema. Cuddle up with the kids to watch animated dragon Toothless and his friend Hiccup head out on another animated adventure.

Reviewing the film when it came out in January 2019 Metro.co.uk said: Youll be stunned technically and reduced to wet putty emotionally; the sweet spot where How To Train Your Dragon thrives.
