Luxury listing: Cape Lodge on the market

Award winning Margaret River hotel Cape Lodge has been placed on the market with expressions of interest sought by the selling agent, CBRE Hotels. The Caves Road property, originally opened in 1993 as a six-room bed & breakfast, underwent extensive renovations in 2003 and again in recent years to evolve into one of the region's most popular accommodation venues. CBRE's Aaron Desange, Ryan McGinnity and Chloe Mason have been appointed to market the property for sale with vacant possession on behalf of the owner. "Margaret River has recently gained a huge amount of attention in global press as it continues to establish itself as one of the world's best producing wine regions," said Mr Desange. "This has resulted in international visitor arrivals increasing by 37 per cent in just the last three years. "Cape Lodge is the most high-profile accommodation offering in the South-West and we expect investors will be drawn to the prospect of owning a trophy asset." Ms Mason said the vacant possession sale would allow an investor to develop their existing brand within the Margaret River region. "With Cape Lodge being offered for sale with vacant possession, the opportunity exists for an owner-operator or an investor with operator relationships to create a boutique branding presence within the popular tourism region," she said. The property boasts 22 guestrooms, a five-bedroom private residence, restaurant, swimming pool, tennis court spa and conference facility on 16.5 hectares of grounds and private vineyards. The internationally renowned venue has been touted one of Australia's best lodge hotels – named the 'Best Boutique Hotel in Australia' by Luxury Travel Magazine in 2011 and listed in the Condé Nast Traveller's Gold List in 2012. Expressions of Interest close 9 May 2019.
