Avengers star Letitia Wright overwhelmed by EE Bafta Rising Star nod: Thanks from the bottom of my heart
Letitia Wright has expressed her gratitude after being nominated for the 2019 EE Bafta Rising Star award, describing the nod as a huge honour.
The Avengers star was announced on the shortlist for the prestigious Bafta award on Thursday, in recognition of her critically-acclaimed performances in Marvels Black Panther and Avengers.
Reacting to the exciting news, Letitia said it means a lot that shes been nominated alongside so many talented actors. Also appearing on the shortlist are Lakeith Stanfield, Cynthia Erivo, Jessie Buckley and Barry Keoghan.
Letitia, 25, added: I would like to thank both BAFTA and the jury from the bottom of my heart for putting me forward for the 2019 EE Rising Star Award – its a huge honour and a fantastic category to be nominated for, especially as the winner is decided by film fans at home.
Actor Lakeith, who rose to prominence with his standout role in Jordan Peeles Get Out alongside Daniel Kaluuya, said of his nomination: On behalf of the entire Sorry To Bother You team, thank you BAFTA. It is an honour and a pleasure to be considered.

Widows actress Cynthia said it means the world to be acknowledged while Barry, best known for American Animals, added that it was an amazing feeling and incredible honour.

Echoing Letitias sentiments, Jessie – who first rose to fame on the reality show Id Do Anything – said she thanked [Bafta] from the bottom of [her] heart.
The 2019 EE British Academy Film Awards take place on 10 February.
