**Note, this contains spoilers. Read at your own risk**
It hasnt been all that long, like two weeks, since Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald landed in cinemas and we really havent stopped going on about it since.
And that includes potential theories to tide us over and fill the gaps until the next instalment lands in our laps in the coming years (thats right, dont get too keen).
The latest film, from the pen of JK Rowling, saw Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne) come face to face with many a fantastic beast, as well as Johnny Depps Grindelwald.
In a tense finale which *inhales* saw wizards battle it out as the villain attempted to convert magics to his evil cause, Zoë Kravitzs character Leta Lestrange appears to sacrifice herself, after trying one fatal blow on Grindelwald, before he destroys her while Newt and his brother Theseus run to safety before everything well and truly went to the dogs.

However, in the scene – which came not long after quite the emotional dumping from Leta, as she explained she basically killed her half-brother (at the time believed to potentially be Credence Barebone) after she swapped the crying baby for another, with her half-brother drowning at sea post-swap – one theory, proferred by amanyggvv, believed that her sacrifice in the face of Grindelwald may have an effect on the Scamander bros for years (sequels) to come.
Because, if you look back on the Harry Potter canon, which follows this beaut of a story, one keen punter has suggested perhaps Leta whacked on a Sacrificial Protection charm in her final moments, meaning Grindelwald is going to have a ruddy hard time ending the Scamander brothers.
Much like Lily Potter did way back when, on her son Hazza, meaning Voldemort was pretty useless at ending the young sprog no matter how hard he tried.
In order for the charm to work, a person must sacrifice their own life out of love (and Leta loved Theseus AND Newt, lets be honest here) to save the life of another, after choosing death in the process.
After she was given the chance to join him in his wicked quest to convert everyone to the evil side, Leta attempts to strike Grindelwald with some magic, but fails (which works in the theory thus far, as youre not allowed to fight back against the one youre trying to use the charm against – so perhaps she deliberately missed the villain in order to bamboozle the lot of them), before Depps character ends her for good.

While it really sucked to see Leta die so soon, after just one film graced with her presence (so.much.potential), the thought her last act could have a positive impact on the movie really is quite lovely.
Heres hoping she protected both brothers and not just one of them (but which one…we wonder…).
The only thing is, which Digital Spy rightly points out, is that there are some shortcomings with this theory that might punch it in the guts before it comes to fruition.
First of all, we dont yet know if the charm can be made by someone outside of the Potter family, seeing as we havent seen it being cast by anyone other than Lily and Harry.
Whether or not its just for the Potter bloodline (mind you, Lily isnt a Potter by blood, is she?) is still up for debate. TBC on that one.

Also, youve got to share a pretty loving bond with whomever youre protecting and it remained to be seen just how strong Letas connection with either Newt or Theseus was.
But we can dream, right?
And until we get to Fantastic Beasts 3, thats exactly what were going to do.
