Chiefs confirm Manyama out for 6 weeks

Cape Town – Kaizer Chiefs forward Lebogang Manyama will be side-lined for up to six weeks with a fractured elbow he sustained in a car accident on Tuesday.

The Bafana Bafana international was fortunate to come away from the crash virtually unscathed, although he did injure his elbow and will not be available until early December.

Meanwhile, Leonardo Castro and Andriamirado Andrianarimanana are still recovering from their respective knocks.

Castro has an ankle concern whereas 'Dax' is battling with a calf injury. In addition, Khama Billiat is to be assessed after picking up a back injury while on international duty with Zimbabwe.

The good news for the Soweto giants is that Joseph Molangoane has moved into full rehabilitation and is off the crutches after breaking his leg in early August.

Chiefs physiotherapist David Milner told the club's official website: "Lebo went through MRI scans yesterday and that revealed a fractured elbow. He will accordingly be treated and be put under a recovery plan.

"Both Castro and Dax are progressively improving. Castro is recovering from an ankle injury, while Dax had a calf strain. Khama has to be assessed for a back injury."

Amakhosi are next in action when they host Black Leopards in a Telkom Knockout Round-of-16 tie at FNB Stadium on Sunday.
