The fuss over Chris Pine getting his penis out on screen is ridiculous, says Outlaw King Director
Theres been a bit of a hoo-hah over Chris Pines latest film thanks to one scene in particular that sees the actor offer some full frontal nudity.
The scene in question, mid-way through Outlaw King, sees Chris have a quick wash in a local Loch but director David McKenzie reckons the fuss over the moment has been blown way out of proportion.
Its a man getting clean in a cold Loch – you dont do that with your clothes on. And its micro seconds, its ridiculous all the fuss about it, David told Metro.co.uk.
Chris stars as Robert the Bruce in the film, and David revealed that casting Chris is very easy.
The pair worked together on Oscar-nominated Hell Or High Water, and David said that he liked his qualities as an actor and movie star and I wanted to have someone to play Robert The Bruce, who could embrace the physicality of being this iconic hero.

Chris has been criticised however for being cast as a Scottish hero, when he is an American actor, but producer Gillian Berrie admitted that a years-old Twitter clip calmed her concerns.

Hes not Scottish but before Hell And High Water, when I knew David was thinking about collaborating with him and vice versa, someone showed me a clip of him doing a Scottish accent, she said. He was mimicking the taxi driver when he was passing through – and it was perfect.
Outlaw King is out on Netflix and cinemas on 9 November.
