Italian director flashes Weinstein is innocent t-shirt at Venice Film Festival
Italian director Luciano Silighini Garagnani courted controversy when he arrived at the Venice Film Festival by proudly displaying a Weinstein is innocent t-shirt.
Garagnani wore a blazer over the item of clothing, and made sure to flash it to awaiting photographers as he walked the red carpet for the premiere of Suspiria.
Its not known for sure whether the support was sincere or whether it was an unfunny joke, but the 42-year-old has previously shown support for the disgraced mogul.
He also made a statement in the fact he wore a t-shirt, regardless of the motif, as his colleagues all showed up in black tie.
Film Festival chief Alberto Barbara slammed the stunt as a stupid move.
Gagagnani is thought to enjoy controversy, with his IMDB page stating he has donated to the Donald Trump campaign.
Actor Paolo Riva could be seen in the images pointing at the picture and finding it amusing, which may indicate it was some kind of PR stunt.
