PM denies claim he warned borders would be closed ‘indefinitely’

skynews– Prime Minister Scott Morrison has sensationally denied the front-page splash on The Daily Telegraph which claimed he said the international borders would be closed indefinitely. “Australia’s COVID suppression strategy has not changed to an ‘elimination’ strategy nor is ‘zero cases’ our goal as reported… There will always be cases as we return Australians home from overseas,” Mr Morrison said. “International borders will only open when it is safe to do so. We still have a long way to go, and there are still many uncertainties ahead.” The Morrison government has announced no time frame for the reopening of the borders although Trade Minister Dan Tehan has suggested next year as a possibility.
