Labor has ‘left behind’ people’s jobs, futures

skynews– Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says people are waking up to a Labor Party that has left behind their own jobs and futures. This comes as Nationals leader Michael McCormack will head into Joel Fitzgibbon’s seat of Hunter to attempt to seize divisions within Labor over resources such as coal. “We saw that at the last election. No one really thought we had much of a go in a seat like Hunter,” Mr Canavan told Sky News. “I think people are desperate for a party that’s willing to fight for them. Willing to go into battle for them in Canberra.” Mr Canavan also said he wanted to see more coal mined in the Hunter Valley. “I’m not shy about saying that, it is the world’s best thermal coal. The more of it we mine the better it will be for the world because it will displace dirty, less clean coal overseas.”
