Kin Mining discovers further shallow ore-grade mineralisation as Cardinia Gold Project potential grows

Kin Mining NL (ASX:KIN) has discovered shallow ore-grade gold mineralisation in aircore drilling at East Lynne prospect which extends the Cardinia Gold Project (CGP) near Leonora in WA and further enhances the project's potential.

Results to date make up about 30% of the 15,000-metre program, designed to test a 6-kilometre-long multi-element soil geochemical anomaly which straddles several sets of historical workings adjacent to a geological contact within the Minerie greenstone sequence.

The broad-spaced drilling consisting of 14 lines began at East Lynne in early July as part of a phase-3 exploration program, which has now been completed.

Geochemical greenfields target[hhmc]

Managing director Andrew Munckton said: “The East Lynne target is a significant structural and geochemical greenfields target within the CGP.

“There are several sets of workings along the target that have produced high-grade rock chips, significant alluvial gold won by prospectors and strong high-grade drill results from holes drilled immediately under the old workings.

“However, there has been limited and inadequate testing of the mineralised trends by previous explorers and the target is ripe for a systematic, broad-spaced drill testing program to test the entire length and width of the anomaly and highlight new zones for immediate follow-up.”

Results are “excellent”[hhmc]

Munckton continued: “The results from the initial four lines of drilling are excellent, particularly considering the wide-spaced nature of the drilling.

“Significant new zones of mineralisation have been discovered in aircore lines 3a, 3b and 4b in 4-metre composite sampling and mineralisation marked by historical workings has been extended.”

Substantial widths and grades were encountered in 400-metre line spaced aircore drilling with results including:

  • 20 metres at 1.36 g/t gold from 20 metres;
  • 4 metres at 1.29 g/t from 32 metres;
  • 4 metres at 0.97 g/t from 16 metres;
  • 8 metres at 0.91 gRead More – Source
