Red River Resources has drill spinning at Hillgrove Gold Project

Red River Resources Limited (ASX:RVR) has started drilling at its Hillgrove Gold Project in NSW as it aims to restart production at the end of the year.

The initial 14-hole program for about 1,310 metres is targeting high-grade gold mineralisation at Eleanora Uppers and Currys Block prospects.

An initial eight-hole program of 690 metres will target shallow high-grade gold mineralisation in the upper levels of the Eleanora Lode.

After this, a six-hole, 620-metre program will be completed at Currys Block, where surface sampling carried out by Red River defined extensive high-grade gold-antimony mineralisation.

Historical sampling and reverse circulation drilling at the Eleanora Lode have indicated the potential to define a shallow high-grade gold resource close to the Hillgrove mill.

This lode is open at depth with the deepest hole intersecting 9 metres at 3.6 g/t gold equivalent.

The company has a JORC 2004-compliant mineral resource for Eleanora and is working to convert this into a JORC 2012-compliant mineral resource with the planned drilling.

Red River geologically mapped and sampled the Currys Block prospect in October 2019, with historic mine workings in the area found to be far more significant than previously thought.
