Chase Mining gears up for diamond drilling at Lorraine Gold Mine in Canada

Chase Mining Corporation Ltd (ASX:CML) is ready to commence a deep diamond drilling program at its Lorraine Gold Mine in Canada after evaluating historical data.

A four-hole diamond drilling program is set to commence in the final week of June 2020, subject to weather and access constraints.

The company is targeting the gold plus copper and silver mineralisation reported from historic sampling and limited drilling associated with the 6-Level development of the mine in southwest Quebec.

Historical data[hhmc]

The company, in conjunction with Orix Geoscience Canada, completed a compilation of all the historic Lorraine mine gold data from 1964 to 1968 and digitisation of associated drilling.

This resulted in the accurate location of the high-grade channel sampled intervals on the 6-Level – 601W drift (around 300 metres Vertical Depth), namely:

  • 28 metres at 45.24 g/t gold, 41 g/t silver and 3.19% copper; and,
  • 9.4 metres at 14.12 g/t gold, 22 g/t silver and 3.16% copper.

In addition, the collar location of underground hole U-6-76, which returned an intersection of 1-metre at 53.47 g/t gold and 12 g/t silver, was confirmed on the 601 S crosscut.
