Rimfire Pacific Mining completes second drilling phase at Southern Area

Rimfire Pacific Mining NL (ASX:RIM) has completed a second phase of drilling at the Southern Areas of the companys Fifield Exploration Licences in Central West NSW.

Results from the 22 aircore holes will be used in conjunction with phase I results to guide final planning and drill hole locations for the third phase of drilling that is expected to begin in the new year.

Samples from the phase II program totalling 783 metres have been sent to the laboratory with results expected in January 2020 after QAQC checks are complete.

Samples for geochemical analysis

The program also obtained volcanic and intrusive bedrock samples for whole rock geochemical analysis to allow Rimfire to make an assessment on characterisation of magma and similarity of rocks in the Southern Area to Ordovician Macquarie Arc volcanism.

This hosts significant deposits within the same region, including Cowal (gold) and Northparkes (copper-gold), which are being mined successfully.
