Whitebark Energy Ltd (ASX:WBE) has commenced drilling operations for its third oil well Rex-3 at the Wizard Lake Project in Canada.
Rex-3 will be drilled on the same pad as Rex-2, around 300 metres to the east and drilling is expected to take about 14 days.
The total length of the well is expected to be 3,370 metres and includes a planned horizontal leg of around 1,800 metres.
Rex-3 is planned to penetrate the reservoir section at about 1,405 metres vertical depth.
Rex-3 is the third of a potential 20+ wells
Whitebarks managing director David Messina said: “Whitebark continues to advance the Wizard Lake development program in Canada with operations starting on Rex-3 ahead of schedule.
“With the extended reach horizontal section of Rex-3 we are very optimistic about continuing to see improvements over the previous Wizard Lake wells.”
