Comet Resources intersects broad widths of high-grade graphite in first diamond hole at Springdale
Comet Resources Ltd (ASX:CRL) has intersected 57 metres of high-grade total graphitic carbon (TGC) at a shallow depth in the first diamond drill hole at Springdale Graphite Project in Western Australia.
The hole targeted identified high-grade graphite in the Northern Zone and intersected 57 metres of 22.38% TGC from just 35.5 metres downhole along with 4 metres at 10.45% from 24 metres.
Drilling encountered very consistent TGC values of greater than 20% and the results suggest excellent reconciliation between diamond and reverse circulation drilling.

Comet's chief executive officer Philippa Leggat said: “What wonderful results from the first diamond drill hole into the Northern Zone especially considering how high the grade is over such a broad zone.
“These results have reconfirmed the companys strategy to focus on the shallow, high-grade mineralisation at Springdale."

The diamond drill core from this hole has provided a bulk sample for priority metallurgical test work.
“Diamond core from this hole is now in the metallurgical lab for characterisation and flotation test-work," Leggat said.
“From this work and over the coming weeks we anticipate a series of important results relating to initial recoveries and flake distribution.
"On from that, we will continue to optimise the results across a broader range of samples.”
