An Australian band has seemingly name-checked Niall Horan over a very similar album cover.

Gang Of Youths shared the cover of former One Directioner Nialls Nice To Meet Ya album, alongside their own 2017 album Say Yes To Life this week.

Taking to their Instagram stories, the rock group – made up of David Leaupepe, Donnie Borzestowski, Jung Kim, Max Dunn and Sam ODonnell – posted a side-by-side composition of the two striking cover arts to their followers.

With Nialls upcoming offering, youve got him in a black and white shot pointing to the camera, while Gang Of Youths version has a hand clasping some muddy roses in the same black and white style.

The text may be what has irked them the most, with both covers sporting bold black type on a white background.

You have to admit they do look similar, sure, but black text on a white background is hardly original.

It seemed the band were all over the album cover after Niall announced it this week, marking his first single since his 2017 album Flicker.

Perhaps inviting the wrath of millions of loyal Niall and One Direction fans, the group even tagged the singer in their post, as they wrote: Hey @niallhoran.

Taking to the comments section on his post, they also wrote: Nice artwork, with a kissing emoji for added effect.

Its not the first time the group has used this sort of artwork on their releases, picking a similar design for Go Farther In Lightness (albeit with white text on a black background), which was nominated at the 2017 Aria Awards for best cover art, and The Heart Is A Muscle.

Hey, maybe Niall was merely taking inspiration from Johnny Cashs American IV: The Man Comes Around album cover which sported the legend in black and white with bold white CASH across the top.

Still, fans are already going wild for the treat of new Niall material, days before the tune is set to drop on 4 October.

After posting the cover in question, the Slow Hands hitmaker also updated his Twitter and Instagram bio to read: Nice To Meet Ya, Whats Your Name?

In a post, he wrote: After nearly 2 years since Flicker im ready to go. My new single #NiceToMeetYa is out October 4th.

The single preview seems to have an even more mature sound than his previous works, which were quite folky compared to his music with One Direction.

He has also revealed the album will feature a track that delves into some serious heartbreak after his split from Hailee Steinfeld in late 2018, titled Put A Little Love On Me, according to Capital FM.
