Amber Liu admits there are no plans for an f(x) reunion as she talks angry new single Hands Behind My Back

Amber Liu has spoken about the future of K-Pop girl group f(x) after she quit her agency SM Entertainment.

Last month the 27-year-old star, who has been in the industry since she was 15, annnounced she had chosen not to renew her contract and start on the next chapter of my career. Fellow member Victoria followed her just four days after.

That next chapter will be her solo album X and the lead track Hands Behind My Back.

F(x)s fandom MeU might be wondering about whether theres any chance of new music from Amber, Krystal, Luna and Victoria, and Amber has explained there are no plans for another album.

But dont rule it out completely.

She told Metro.co.uk: Whether we do music or not, I think there will be a time when we can but I think right now were just figuring ourselves out. We have no plans, but its never not an option.

Amber spoke about how the members are like sisters who regularly stay in touch but make sure they dont hold each other back or feel jealous of a member deciding to go it alone, which Amber says can happen in groups.

I was just texting Krystal last night! she said.

Ive always said were more than just a group that just does music together. Were friends. Were family. Were sisters and thats always gonna be there. We always hit each other when we can.

We respect each others ventures.Krystals killing it with her acting, Lunas doing her music, Victorias killing it with her performing and her modelling and acting.

We have never had the feeling of, once somebody started doing something on their own, we would never be like, “Oh why are they doing something on their own?”. We never have that.

Im just gonna say something that no one wants to say, but I think a lot of people in the industry who are in groups youre gonna have that natural envy.

But for our group were like why should we waste time being envious when we should support each other and push each other to do better.

From the sounds of her new single Hands Behind My Back Amber is definitely moving onwards and upwards.

She explained that the song came from a place of anger at people who took advantage or her or tried to restrict her in her career.

There were so many people that just lied to my face and say things that dont make sense, Amber told us.

I try to be the bigger person, and people just take advantage of the situation. They restrict me or block me from things and Im just like [sigh].

Im so mad and I feel like Im in a sleeping bag when you zip yourself up and you cant move. Like, what do you want me to do?
