Liam Gallagher has suggested that the knife crime epidemic in London could be solved if teenagers took magic mushrooms.

Explaining that the number of stabbings in the UK capital, where the former Oasis man and his children live, is f******g scary, Liam suggested that young people should put down knives and take the hallucinogenic drugs in order to open their minds.

Speaking to The Fader, Liam said: There wasnt much going on when we were growing up but we werent going around with machetes and throwing acid in peoples faces.

We had f**k all, and I think this generations got a lot more than we had. So Im not buying that theres nothing to do.

Theres a field out there – go play football and take some magic mushrooms.

Its not the first time the musician has share his thoughts on crime in the capital – earlier this year, he said hed like to use his status and have a word with the mayor, Sadiq Khan, about rising violent crime rates.

Every morning you wake up theres some 16-year-old being knifed to death and that, the 47-year-old father to Molly, 22, Lennon, 19, Gene, 17, and Gemma, six, said.

Ive got kids that age, out and about and that, doing their thing, living, being young. That freaks me right out – it does worry me. Ive got teenagers.

Id have a word with that mayor – he seems to not be doing a good job, all them kids getting knifed and all that.

Liam has just released his new album Why Me? Why Not. and also stated that if he were to ever become Prime Minister then he would legalise all drugs because so many people want to take them.

He said: Id legalise them because they are shocking these days. Improve the quality and make some money.

Liam also added that hes happy so many teenagers embracing 90s style – the decade Liam and his brother Noel shot to fame in Oasis – even though they sometimes dont get all their fashion choices right.

Comparing the fascination with the 90s with Oasis passion for the 1960s, he said: We looked at it through rose-tinted glasses, and thats what theyre doing, romanticising things.

You see some if it and you think, “Youre getting it wrong there.” Its all good though. When you look at the state of the world and you see walls being built in America you cant be getting upset about someone wearing the wrong trainers with their Sergio Tacchini tracksuit.
