EastEnders spoilers: Mel Owen takes shocking action in dramatic exit storyline

Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) has had the year from hell in EastEnders, what with her beloved son Hunter (Charlie Winter) having lost his life during the hostage situation which he orchestrated at the Queen Vic, but the E20 manager is hell bent on getting revenge, and — with actress Tamzin soon set to depart from the show — theres no way the legendary character is going to leave Walford quietly.

With Mel having learned that Keanu (Danny Walters) is the father of Sharons baby, she sets about using this information to her advantage. After setting a trap for Sharon — a trap which Sharon falls right into — Mel confronts the Mitchell matriarch with her discovery, before proceeding to blackmail her, demanding that she convince Louise (Tilly Keeper) to move back in with Lisa (Lucy Benjamin) — giving her a mere day to do so.

With Sharon acting shifty, Keanu questions her behaviour — something which she uses to her advantage, as she attributes said behaviour to the fact that she can no longer live under the same roof as her former lover. Her lie works, and Louise and Keanu soon move in with Mel, leaving Sharon relieved. However, Mel makes it clear that shes not finished with Sharon yet.

Later in the week, Mel ups the ante and blackmails Sharon once more. However, Sharon manages to get the upper hand — which leaves Mel spooked.

As a result, the E20 manager resorts to drastic measures, and gives Sharon a threat which the Mitchell matriarch simply cannot ignore, but just what — or who — is it that she threatens? Either way, Sharons left shaken to the core by Mels uncharacteristic behaviour.

Things get much worse when Mel changes her demands — but what is it that she now wants?
