When it comes to the good guys, theres nobody purer or more clean-cut than Captain America.

So its no surprise that Chris Evans is enjoying the change of pace by playing a less-than-lovely murder suspect.

The 38-year-old plays Ransom Drysdale-Thrombey in Rian Johnsons upcoming murder mystery Knives Out, and relished the change from playing Steve Rogers in the MCU.

Speaking at Varietys Toronto International Film Festival studio, Chris said: Its nice to play somebody a little more vile.

I dont always get the opportunity to play someone whos so despicable; so yeah, its fun.

And working with a large cast is obviously something Marvel hero Chris has experience in.

He told the Hollywood Reporter: It is kind of a group mentality, so youre still kind of collaborating with a lot of people, and it is kind of, strangely enough, a similar family dynamic.

A different character – in the Marvel movies I play a guy whos a little more taciturn, a little more selfless, and in this movie I play a guy thats a little more vile. But the way you come to set every day is still pretty similar.

And to be honest, it was just as fun. Everyone on this set, everyones just here to have a good time and everyone loves what they do. Its a real blessing.

Knives Out sees wealthy crime author Harlan Thrombrey (Pummer) invite his extended family to his mansion to celebrate his 85th birthday.

However, Harlan is found dead, and Detective Benoit Blanc (Craig) comes to investigate – soon deciding that everyone is a suspect.

The Agatha Christie inspired murder mystery had its world premiere on 7 September at TIFF, and is already critically acclaimed, with a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
