Pennywise is set to return this week in It Chapter Two, which will see the characters return to the city of Derry in the sequel to the popular 2016 horror film.

Each of young actors will be replaced by older stars, as it is set 27 years after the events that took place in the first movie.

It Chapter Two will be released in UK cinemas on Friday 6 September, and it is based on the novel of the same name written by Stephen King in 1986.

Here is everything that you need to know about the length of the new movie and what the age rating is.

How long is It Chapter Two?

It Chapter Two is 169 minutes long, or two hours and 49 minutes, which means that is a lengthy film for horror fans to sit through.

The run-time makes it 34 minutes longer than the first film, and fans were sceptical when director Andy Muschietti confirmed the length of the movie back in July.

Speaking to press (via Digital Spy) Muschietti said: At the beginning, when youre writing and building the beats of the story, everything that you put in there seems very essential to the story.

However, when you have the movie finally edited and its 4 hours long, you realise that some of the events and some of the beats can be easily lifted but the essence of the story remains intact.

We ended up having a movie that is 2 hours and 45 minutes, and the pacing is very good. Nobody whos seen the movie has had any complaint.

If you want to see even more of the two moves, Muschietti has also teased a supercut of both films where they are put together to produce over five hours of horror.
