There has been a lot of talk about the Bruce Lee scene in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, but it turns out the original ending was very different to what plays out on screen.

The iconic Hong-Kong American actor and martial artist is seen going up against Brad Pitts stuntman character Cliff Booth on the set of TV series The Green Hornet.

And while the fight is interrupted before a clear winner is chosen, Quentin Tarantinos original script saw Bruce Lee (played by Mike Moh) lose the fight.

The films co-stunt coordinator Robert Alonzo revealed how Brad Pitt and members of the crew raised concern enough about the storyline to get Tarantino to change it.

I know that Brad had expressed his concerns, and we all had concerns about Bruce losing, Alonzo told HuffPost UK.

Especially for me, as someone who has looked up to Bruce Lee as an icon, not only in the martial-arts realm, but in the way he approached philosophy and life, to see your idol be beaten is very disheartening… I had a difficult time choreographing a fight where he lost.

He continued: Everyone involved was like, “How is this going to go over?” Brad was very much against it. He was like, “Its Bruce Lee, man!”

Despite the changes, Bruce Lee fans have been left disappointed by the stars portrayal in the movie.

Bruce Lees daughter has claimed the action star was portrayed as an arrogant a***hole and it was disheartening to see Bruce, who died in 1973, be turned into a mockery.

She added that the showdown made her feel uncomfortable. In the scene, Cliff and Bruce trade cocky insults before they agree to a fight.

He comes across as an arrogant a***hole who was full of hot air, Shannon told The Wrap.

And not someone who had to fight triple as hard as any of those people did to accomplish what was naturally given to so many others.

Shannon was upset by the portrayal because, in reality, he was fighting endless stereotypes in the industry as an Asian-American actor in 1960s Hollywood.
