Snow has fallen on Canberra's Manuka Oval during Friday night's clash between the Hawks and the Giants.
It's believed to be the first time an AFL match has seen a dusting of snow in the league's history.
Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Jake Phillips said they were still determining the conditions but it seemed to be on the cusp of sleet and snow.

"I suspect it's mostly sleet but I saw some footage from the AFL game and some of it does look as though it is moving into snow territory and melting as it hits the ground, not settling," he said.

Footy fans and commentators were left in disbelief when snow appeared to begin falling in the first quarter of the round 21 clash.
By about 8.30pm, the temperature had plummeted to 2.4 degrees.

"But it's very windy so it's blowing around about 30km/h to 40km/h, so the apparent temperature is well below zero. It's about minus eight degrees," said Mr Phillips.
"Sitting out there watching the game, that's what it would feel like, minus six or minus eight degrees."
Spectators in the crowd could be seen wearing ski masks and goggles as they braced the freezing conditions.
