Manchester United end pursuit of Juve’s Dybala – report

Cape Town – Manchester United have reportedly ended their pursuit of Juventus forward Paulo Dybala after failing to agree on personal terms with the player.

Dybala was strongly tipped to move to Old Trafford before Thursday's deadline, with Juventus keen to swap the Argentina international with Red Devils frontman Romelu Lukaku.

There had been various reports of Dybala wanting to stay at Juventus but that he would move to United if the deal was right.

And now widespread reports – including in BBC Sport – claim that United have ended talks over the potential move after Dybala's demands were seen as too high.

The Times claim that the deal collapsed when United refused to make Dybala one of the Premier League club's top earners.

Dybala was understood to be demanding £18m in salary while United would have shelled out a further £13m in agents fees.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte is still hoping to wrap up a deal for Lukaku after Inter Milan's previous bids were reportedly rejected.

It has also been reported that United have instead secured a deal for Juventus veteran forward Mario Mandzukic.
