Since season three of Stranger Things launched earlier this month, it has been viewed by more than 40 million household accounts.

A line of series-related merch from brands including Coca Cola, Polaroid, and Hasbro soon followed, and now theres another tantalising piece of the Netflix puzzle.

Following an initial release of Stranger Things x Nike apparel feature the Hawkins High School branding, a new shoe has been revealed at San Diego Comic Con. And true fans will be setting them on fire.

The re-imagined Nike Tailwind 79 shoe features a shabby grey fabric which can be burned away to uncover hidden messages.

The rest of the shoe also features secret elements that reference the covert underground Russian base working to re-open access to the Upside Down.

Hiding beneath the insoles, in English and Russian, is the code deciphered by Steve (Joe Keery), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Robin (Maya Hawke) in the hit Netflix series.

The shoes were launched over the weekend with none other than a scavenger hunt. A few select winners were then chosen to receive the ultra-limited edition trainers, but they will be more widely available on 21 August from BAIT.
