Is the new Lion King a musical and will there be new songs in the soundtrack?
The original Lion King movie is something of a classic, with many people being able to remember the words to the Elton John-penned songs 25 years on.
When it was announced that Disney would be remaking the movie, it would have been easy to worry that the new line-up (and the music that went with it) wouldnt be able to do it justice.
As soon as Beyoncé came on the scene, however, film lovers breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that the whole thing was in safe hands.
Her voice takes centre-stage in much of the new soundtrack, and shes also released an album called The Lion King: The Gift, which is supposed to take people on a journey into the storyline. The Gift features African singers and producers, in order to reflect the setting of the movie.
If youre worried, however, that you arent seeing as many songs as youd hoped from the original soundtrack, never fear. It is definitely a musical, and youll still have some of your favourites.
Both The Gift and the OST are separate albums although they do have a few songs in common.

The movie will still feature classic songs like Circle of Life and I Just Cant Wait To Be King. Of course, Hakuna Matata will also be there.
Beyoncés track, Spirit, is a welcome new addition, and you can listen to The Gift alongside all the classics to get the full experience. Heres the tracklist for you.
