When is Mulans live action reboot released in the UK as the trailer debuts?

Those Disney live-action reboots just keep on coming, with Mulan among those heading to a cinema near you in the not too distant future.

And weve finally been given a look at what we can expect from this one, with the release of the first teaser trailer over the weekend.

While it didnt answer all of our questions – for example whether Mushu the dragon will turn up, since hes not in the teaser clip – it does look as though we can look forward to a pretty sweeping epic.

So just when is it due to open in the UK?

Weve still got a while to wait for Mulan, as its not due for release in the UK until 27 March 2020.

The preview has given us just one minute of what we can expect when it does reach these shores, with star Liu Yifei preparing for battle as the iconic character.

The trailers already proven popular with many fans applauding the Asian representation that the character brings to the studios princess line-up.

However others have questioned the films lack of songs – as this is one reboot which wont feature musical numbers – as well as the non-appearance of Mushu, voiced in the cartoon version by Eddie Murphy.

Li Shang – who was Mulans love interest in the 1998 version – is also reported to be absent from the reboot.

What is Mulan about?

The synopsis reads as follows: The official synopsis states: When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father.

Masquerading as a man, Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength and embrace her true potential. It is an epic journey that will transform her into an honored warrior and earn her the respect of a grateful nation…and a proud father.
