Two Brits killed in Malia car crash with one woman left fighting for life

Two Brits have died in Malia after their rented 4×4 collided with a stationary motorcycle.

The male and female were both killed instantly in the crash, which took place on the northern coast of Crete at around 6am on July 8.

Another female was left seriously injured by the collision, while a man, 18, escaped without serious harm.

The woman was taken to PAGNI hospitals intensive care unit.

Local media has speculated that the three casualties may not have been wearing seat belts, although this is unconfirmed.

The victims of the crash have not been named but their next of kin have been informed.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: We are supporting the families of three British people involved in a car accident in Crete, and are in contact with local authorities.
