**Warning – major spoilers ahead for Avengers: Endgame and minor spoilers for Spider-Man: Far From Home **

Avengers: Endgame delivered gut punch after gut punch, as some of our favourite heroes said their farewells.

Black Widow, aka Natasha Romanoff, sacrificed herself early on for the Soul Stone, while Iron Man, aka Tony Stark, lost his life destroying Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet.

But the newly released Spider-Man: Far From Home confirms another major Avenger has bitten the dust.

While we saw Captain America, aka Steve Rogers, in old age at the end of Endgame, he was alive – but the opening of Far From Home confirms that Cap has died.

While going back in time, Cap decided to live out his life with his beloved Peggy Carter, and returned to Avengers HQ as an old man.

And it turns out he died soon after, as in the opening scene of Far From Home, a memorial video on the high school TV station pays tribute to Natasha, Tony and Cap – with star-wiping stock images set to Whitney Houstons I Will Always Love You.

A fitting tribute, were sure youll agree.

We knew Cap wouldnt be returning to the MCU, seeing as he gave Falcon his shield, but still, it tugs on our heartstrings.

Far From Home sees Peter Parker (Tom Holland) dealing with the loss of his friend and mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr), and trying to spend his summer as a normal teenager on his schools trip to Europe.

However, that wont fly with Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson), who shows up in Venice to ask Peter, aka Spider-Man, to team up with Quentin Beck, aka Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), to fight the Elementals.

This is an issue for Peter in a number of ways – not only does he not think he can be the next Iron Man, but it gets in the way of his plan to woo MJ (Zendaya) at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
