Nathan Cleary has been ruled out of the State of Origin decider at ANZ Stadium next week with an ankle injury, with Mitchell Pearce called into Brad Fittler's side as his replacement.
Pearce has been one of the form players in the competition for resurgent Newcastle and will now get an opportunity for Origin redemption in game three next Wednesday night.
