These gorgeous new Vans are inspired by Frida Kahlos artwork
When Vans released their limited edition Harry Potter merch, the internet pretty much went crazy.
Now, the masterminds behind the shoes over at Vault by Vans have launched a Frida Kahlo inspired range of lace-up and slip-on trainers.
Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter who was known for her unique and colourful self-portraits.
She was a staple of Mexican culture establishing herself as a cultural icon, but also posing questions about gender, class and struggles in her own personal life.
So obviously we want to wear her work on our feet.
Some of her most famous pieces, including Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird, have been carefully transferred onto the Vans shoes.
A magical collaboration awaits.
The Vans OG Sk8-Hi shoe features her Las Dos Fridas artwork which sees two versions of herself holding hands, a representation of her dual heritage but its also thought to symbolise her divorce from Diego Rivera.
The classic OG Slip-On comes with the Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird print, the self portrait that most people will instantly recognise.
And the Authentic Vans shoe comes with a watermelon print from her still life piece, Viva la Vida, which was reportedly made just eight days before her death in 1954.
