Lebanon bans entire team over protest

NRL stars Robbie Farah, Mitchell Moses, Tim Mannah, Josh Mansour and Michael Lichaa are among 17 players suspended by the Lebanese Rugby League Federation in the latest extraordinary development engulfing the international game.

The LRLF released a statement on Monday confirming the entire team would be stood down with immediate effect and face a misconduct panel after senior players revolted against the way its administration was being run in the Middle East.

Players had outlined plans to tape over the LRLF logo before the mid-season Test against Fiji, a protest which was later scrapped.

But having initially threatened players with jail time if they carried out the action, the LRLF has now brought charges against the players.
