Looking like the spitting image of Ursula herself, the video showcases the rapper powerfully belting out one of the films numbers, Pool Unfortunate Souls.

Actress Cynthia Erivo also chimed in, tweeting: 2 words. Ursula. @Lizzo. Theres really no excuse.

Which Lizzo quoted with yet another pleading-faced emoji. Talk about determination.

The Truth Hurts star had previously met Melissa at the MTV Movie and TV Awards this month, with the actress taking to Instagram to share the special moment.

Posting a pic of her and Lizzo gushing at a table at the awards ceremony, she said: Hopefully when I grabbed @lizzobeeating and told her I loved her, 1 per cent of her magic was transferred to me so now by osmosis I am 1 per cent that b***h.

But that will not stop Lizzo from competing against her to get what she wants.

The upcoming Little Mermaid remake, which will begin production in April 2020, will incorporate songs from the original 1989 animated classic, as well new music from composer Alan Menken.

Actress Zendaya is reportedly being lined up to play the films leading role of Ariel.
