Stormzy has been praised for his sensational Glastonbury Festival on Friday night after becoming the first solo black British artist to headline.

The 25-year-old made history when he took Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm, as the country tuned in to watch the live performance on BBC Two which saw a duet with Coldplays Chris Martin, Dave and Fredo.

His set was highly-praised by fans watching at home – and right there at the festival – with many celebrating the grime MC for performing without a backing track.

The south Londoner, aka Big Mike, stormed onto the stage wearing a bulletproof jacket plastered with a large union jack on the back and front.

As he opened his set with Where Do You Know Me From and Cold, the Brit Award winner told the crowd: This the greatest night of my entire life. Who has got energy today?

Another explained on the social media site: I do not think people understand what it takes for an artist to perform live without backing tracks.
