Heres some exciting news for Steps fans – the group are working on their new album.

Claire Richards confirmed their album plans on Lorraine and explained that the pop group are currently working on tracks for the new project.

Yes, we have a new album coming next year hopefully, she told the host on Friday morning.

We have started working on it already and hopefully there will be a tour after that as well. Its ongoing.

The band – including Lisa Scott-Lee, Lee Latchford-Evans, Ian H Watkins and Faye Tozer – marked their 20th anniversary in 2017 with a comeback album and tour.

Tears On The Dance Floor managed to reach number two in the charts, but initially the group were unsure if it was worth following up with another album.

But thankfully the gang are working on new music after all.

Speaking to Bang Showbiz last year, Lisa shared some dream collaborations she would love to see on the bands new album.

We would love to do some collaborations. We are very open to working with people, she confessed.

If I had my choice it would be Ed Sheeran or Calvin Harris. I dont know if either of them would accept, but that would be my choice.

But before all that, Claire is getting ready to open up for Celine Dion at the BST Hyde Park on 13 July.
