George Burgess facing ban for alleged eye gouge of Farah

South Sydney prop George Burgess is facing the prospect of a lengthy stint on the sidelines after being put on report for an alleged eye gouge on Robbie Farah.

Burgess will face scrutiny from the NRL match review committee after an incident early in the first half of the Rabbitohs' clash with the Wests Tigers on Thursday.

Burgess was placed on report by referee Adam Gee after putting his fingers in Farah's eyes during a tackle.

The Tigers No.9 got up complaining to officials and Burgess was penalised before Esan Marsters accepted a gift two points in front of the posts.
