Ponga goes flying…

and Qld get the penalty. A bit of madness there from NSW as Frizell shoves Munster out of the way on the kick-chase then goes into Ponga, who was already in the air fielding the kick. That could have been nasty as Qld now go on the attack to look for their first points.

TRY to the Blues!

After being held up on one side, he makes no mistake this time. What a player he is this kid. Just makes things happen. Chases the bomb and flies right over the top of Ponga, who had a leap but did not have the height. Near the posts and this will be 6-0 to the Blues after the kick.

Qld go close!

Great kick in behind from Cherry-Evans and Chambers beat the NSW chasing pack to the pill but it bounced out of his grasp. Near-thing for NSW and they survive to punch it out of their red zone.

Error from Qld…

Kaufusi with the knock-on although Cleary had a hand on that, so nice break for NSW early. The Blues with the scrum feed near halfway but you can already see how slippery this track is. Both teams' little men struggling with their feet.

Away we go…

Ponga kicks off and Origin II is underway. Daniel Saifiti with a good charge on his first touch as NSW try to get a strong first set under their belt. Wighton with the kick and that's a powerful start for the Blues.

Anthems done…
