The Iranian regime has reportedly executed a former ministry of defence employee, who it claims was spying for the US.
Jalal Hajizavar was a contract employee for the aerospace organisation, according to reports on Saturday.
He had left his post nine years ago, and was convicted by a military court after an investigation allegedly discovered documents and spying equipment at his home, according to the IRIB news agency.
It claims he was executed at the Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, west of Tehran.
It comes amid heightening tensions between Tehran and Washington.
Yesterday President Trump said the US was cocked and loaded to retaliate against the nation for downing an American drone.
Iran said the drone was in Iran airspace but the US insisted it was flying over international waters.

Trump then claimed the strikes were cancelled 10 minutes before they were due to be carried out, as he was told 150 people could die.
Foreign Office Minister Andrew Murrison will fly to Iran this weekend to call for an urgent de-escalation in the region.
