Boys can wear pinafores at school introducing gender neutral uniform policy

A primary school in Ireland is introducing a gender neutral uniform policy, allowing any child to wear either a skirt or trousers.
St Brigids National School said they wanted pupils to feel comfortable and happy and be more inclusive of people questioning their gender.
The policy will be introduced from the new school year in 2019.
Principal Máire Costello told the Irish Mirror: We have children who are questioning their sexual identity. It is happening at an earlier age. We want all our children to have a happy experience in school.
If that means girls wearing trousers or boys wearing skirts, so be it. The most important thing is that children should feel comfortable and happy over how they are dressed.
The new policy was raised by the school council and approved by parents and the board of management.
