Sophie Turner so down to play Boy George in biopic after Piers Morgan rubbishes idea
It seems Sophie Turner might be playing Boy George in his upcoming biopic after all.
Boy George revealed that the Game of Thrones actress was a top favourite to play his younger self in the forthcoming biopic about his life.
Although the production is in the very early stages, Sophie, 23, has already signed herself up.
Responding to a news report about herself being the frontrunner, the British actress tweeted: Im SO down @BoyGeorge.
You cant go back on your word now, Soph.
It comes after criticism from Piers Morgan, who said it would be wrong for Sophie to portray the Culture Club star because shes a woman.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Piers said: Hes a boy. The hint is in the title of his name. Are you gonna call it Girl George?
Boy George, as far as Im aware, remained identifying as a boy. Boy George has always identified as a boy.

Much to the irk of his co-host Susanna Reid, the TV anchor continued: Boy George is a gay man, Sophie Turner is a straight woman. Why do we do this? Why do we encourage this kind of nonsense?
I do think only a man can play Boy George.
He later vented: Its like saying get a female James Bond. Why? Get your own action heroes. See if anyone wants to watch those. Does Wonder Woman get played by a man? Does it hell.
Boy George, 58, first revealed that Sophie was in the running while speaking to Australias Fitzy and Wippa from Nova.

The singer preempted backlash over Sophies gender, saying: Its really strange but thats been a suggestion — I think that will upset people, which I really like — [people saying] “Oh she cant play you, shes a woman”.
But you know, when I was 17 I would have loved to have been her … that was the ambition.
