Megadeths Dave Mustaine diagnosed with throat cancer as he cancels shows to start treatment


Megadeths Dave Mustaine has been diagnosed with throat cancer.
The 57-year-old who sings and plays guitar in the heavy metal band announced the tragic news on Facebook earlier today.
Here he told fans that he had to cancel a number of upcoming shows in order to undergo treatment.
In a statement, the rocker said: Ive been diagnosed with throat cancer.
Its clearly something to be respected and faced head on – but Ive faced obstacles before.
The star continued: Im working closely with my doctors, and weve mapped out a treatment plan which they feel has a 90% success rate. Treatment has already begun.

Talking about his upcoming gigs, Dave said: Unfortunately, this requires that we cancel most shows this year.

The 2019 Megacruise will happen, and the band will be a part of it in some form. All up to date information will be at megadeth.com as we get it.
He went on to reassure fans that Megadeth will be back on the road ASAP.
Meanwhile, Kiko, David, Dirk and I are in the studio, working on the follow up to Dystopia, he affirmed before adding: Which I cant wait for everyone to hear.
