Marvel wont revive dead characters from Avengers: Endgame for future reboots
Avengers: Endgame co-writer Christopher Markus has revealed that Marvel isnt planning on reviving dead characters for future reboots.
Our hearts have well and truly broken.
In an interview alongside directors Joe and Anthony Russo, and co-writer Stephen McFeely, Markus made his feelings on resurrecting characters clear after the deaths of Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).
Its the nature of the MCU. Its not a place where you can reboot one and suddenly Iron Man is 15 years old and everyone else is still the same age, he explained.
The characters have to pass out, and the universe has to still stand. So if youre going to take people off the board, theyve got to go for real.
However, the writer ackoweldged that you can never say never about these things, adding to Empire: Granted, these are movies. I understand that somebody has made some kind of announcement that has the word Vision in it, so I mean…
Well keep our last, tiny shred of hope, then.

To make those tragic deaths that little bit more heartbreaking, it was recently revealed that we almost got closure on the Black Widow and Bruce Banner relationship.
Seeing as there was so much to take care of and a pesky Thanos to send back to where he came from, writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus explained they simply ran out of time.
That wasnt before they gave it a red hot go in the previous installment, but those scenes ended up on the cutting room floor (and wed now pay very good money for them).
We certainly wanted to continue the story, Mcfeely told the Empire podcast. In Infinity War we have scenes…wrote them, shot them…of [Hulk and Black Widow] sort of hashing that out. “Youve been gone, Ive moved on” – that kind of stuff.
And, despite the Infinity Saga being fully concluded, it doesnt mean the cast have completely let it go, after Men In Black made an Avengers reference with a Thor Easter egg.
While we thought it was a treat to have Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) donning the Men In Black suits, it was a nod to his hammer that gave us all the goods.
In one scene (that was in the trailer, too, granted) there is a mighty reference as Chriss Agent H battles a blue alien.
In an attempt to defeat the annoying grub he grabs a tiny hammer that has nothing on Thors, in a movement much like that of the Avenger who is known for summoning the weapon.
