An aggressive alligator ripped the front fender off a cop car after being confronted by sheriffs deputies.

The eight-foot reptile made short work of the Chevrolets lower grill after Caddo Parish deputies spotted it on the Louisiana 1 Highway in Mooringsport, Louisiana, on Monday.

Those cops had received reports of the gator running back and forth across the road, and called animal control to take the animal to a safer place.

But their attempts to contain the creature failed miserably, with the alligator even asserting its strength by attacking their car. It pulled the plastic to the side of the road, then apparently realized the car part wouldnt make a good meal, and abandoned it while standing nearby.

The sharp-toothed creature ended up fleeing the scene before animal control officers could arrive.
