Just when things seem like theyre coming good for Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta) and Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor) in Neighbours, their worlds come crashing down.
Ellys been enjoying getting closer to the father of her baby, Shaun Watkins (Brad Moller), but she still has a yearning to be with Mark. Shaun senses this and knows that Mark isnt truly done with things either.
He goes to see Mark and says hell leave town so the two can spend time working on their relationship and working out if its worth saving, but Mark is taken aback by the suggestion and cant give a straight answer. Is he holding himself back?
Shaun leaves and Elly is hopeful that there might still be a spark between her and Mark. She goes to speak to him and is buoyed when she learns he hasnt yet signed the annulment papers. Maybe theres a chance she and her baby can have a happy family after all.

She becomes emotional as they chat and Marks heart breaks, leading to a tender kiss between the pair and filling Elly with hope.
Mark is shocked by the sudden turn of events and asks for a little time to sort his head out, which Elly is more than happy to give.
But Susan (Jackie Woodburne) and Bea (Bonnie Anderson) are worried, is Elly getting ahead of herself?
When Shaun learns his plan worked, he fully backs off to give them space. But while Elly gets ready for a reconciliation, Mark confides in Toadie (Ryan Moloney) that he just cant take her back.
